May is Mental Health Awareness Month. In honor of this, PTA is hosting a special workshop by award-winning speaker and author, Ross Szabo, the Director of the Mental Health Education Institute at Geffen Academy. Ross has pioneered the youth mental health movement and has spoken to over 2 million people about the importance of mental health education.
Ross will be presenting to our community over Zoom on Tuesday, May 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
He’ll be focusing on three parts:
1) Our own personal journeys with mental health, how it’s impacted us and our parenting, and what we can do to take care of ourselves.
2) Key aspects of childhood development, temperament and brain development.
3) Creating a common language for mental health that allows us to treat it the same as we treat physical health.
We will also be gifting Ross’ book “Behind Happy Faces: Taking Charge of Your Mental Health” to the first 40 people to RSVP and attend this event. Books can be picked up in the office after the presentation.
Don’t miss out!
