Roosevelt’s Got Talent!

The 2024 Talent Show is tonight! From 5:00-8:00pm in the Auditorium.

Due to the limited capacity of our auditorium, we are unable to open the talent show doors to the entire school this year. Last year, we allowed performers to only bring four guests, and it was standing-room only. This year, we have increased the guest number to six guests to allow the performers to invite friends along with their families.

We apologize for any confusion. We would love for the whole community to be there and support these amazing little performers, so this is something we will definitely work to improve next year if we can find an alternate space.

RULES:

1. A variety of acts are encouraged—singing (no lip syncing or pre-taped vocals), playing a musical instrument, dancing, performing in a skit, reciting a poem, telling a story, doing magic tricks, performing stand-up comedy, juggling, or any other unique talent!
2. All performers must be Roosevelt students.
3. All acts must be NO LONGER THAN 2 MINUTES.
4. Students may only perform in ONE ACT without exception.
5. ALL LYRICS MUST BE APPROPRIATE IN EVERY WAY. This includes any song being sung, performed by an instrumentalist, or danced to. A “clean” version of a song with explicit lyrics is not acceptable—the original song must be appropriate in every way!
6. Please come to rehearsal prepared with words memorized and choreography ready to go.
7. Accompaniments need to be MP3’s & submitted by email to talentshowroosevelt@gmail.com by 2/27. Please format the subject line with Music_LastnameFirstname.
8. Show order will be posted after all rehearsals are completed

PROCEDURES:

1. Every person in the act must fill out a permission slip.
2. Lyrics must be printed and attached to the permission slip. If you fill it out online, you should email the lyrics to talentshowroosevelt@gmail.com. This includes any song being used in the performance.
3. Permissions slips/Act information sheets and Lyrics must be turned in no later than February 23nd for anyone to perform at rehearsals.
