Mathletes is back and will have its first meeting on Wednesday, October 21, at 9 a.m. in Room 24. Open to 4th and 5th grades only. If your child enjoys math and you’re looking to add to their skills, this is the place to be.
We will meet roughly every week, where we’ll learn new skills and ultimately be quizzed on them. In the spring, the county-wide Mathlete competition is held in Culver City. We will use the results of these quizzes to determine who will represent Roosevelt. Last year, we were very fortunate to take two teams of five kids each, and it was a great success.
At the meeting, we’ll get a headcount of participants and will discuss more about the process. After which, the kids will either head to the yard or to their classrooms, depending on the time. Either way, they will not be late for class.
This will be a lot of fun for the kids and a great way for them to add to their math skills and make sure they each bring something to write with and in!
