Our PTA has had many discussions regarding the stressful nature of dropping off our students in the morning. Several parents have suggested we reinstate our Valet Program, and we are hopeful for its return!
What is our Valet Program?
The Roosevelt Valet is a volunteer-led effort to reduce stressful morning drop-offs. Three volunteers will be present at each Lincoln and Upper 9th Street Gate entrance to help students and guardians move through a designated car line.
Cars will pull into the car line, which will be established using cones. Volunteers will wear traffic vests and help students with their backpacks, homework, instruments, etc., so they can exit the car as quickly as possible and keep traffic moving.
Kira Mollis, our Valet Chair, created a comprehensive SignUpGenius to help volunteers stay organized and remember the dates they committed to. You can also volunteer as an alternate for when volunteers can no longer assist during their assigned time.
We have arranged volunteer times by class, except for the last six weeks of school. Please sign up based on your class assignment from now until the end of April. Starting in May, sign-ups will be open to anyone regardless of your class.
HOWEVER, none of this can happen without you. If we don’t fully complete our volunteer sign-up, we will NOT be able to implement this program. The PTA understands this is a sizable undertaking, but we want our community to know we have heard your concerns and also want to build a safer school environment.

Sign up by Friday, October 30, to ensure the future of our Valet.
VALET FAQ
Q: What do I do with my student while I volunteer?
A: Bring them with you! Students are welcome to help with the Valet and usually have a lot of fun doing so. Younger students are fine to play outside with fellow classmates before the gates officially open at 8:10 a.m.
Q: What happens if I can no longer volunteer during the time I signed up for, or I can only volunteer certain days?
