How to support the Yes on ES campaign

We’re in the home stretch of the Yes on ES effort, and the campaign has one last ask of our PTAs: they are recruiting volunteers to hand out palm cards near Santa Monica’s vote centers today through Tuesday and to greet voters and remind them why Measure ES matters for our kids.

SIGN UP HERE: https://forms.gle/HD2CnkWq2HQVLPYF9
The campaign is requesting volunteers to pick a location and a 90-minute shift each day (Nov 1-3), anytime from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

BEFORE YOUR SHIFT
Pick up Yes on ES palm cards at the CTA office, 1508 18th St. They’re in the window facing 18th Street. Please take only what you’ll need, and return any extras to CTA afterward.

VOTE CENTER LOCATIONS
  • Reed Park (Joslyn Hall), 1133 7th St. (7th St., California Ave. or Lincoln Blvd entrance)
  • Virginia Avenue Park (Thelma Terry Bldg, Rm 3), 2200 Virginia Ave. (Pico Blvd. or Virginia Ave entrance)
  • Santa Monica College (Cayton Center), 1900 Pico Blvd. (South campus, Quad north of Cayton Center entrance)

PLEASE KNOW THE RULES
The Yes on ES campaign is asking volunteers to please be aware of your surroundings! State law bans campaigning within 100 feet of a vote center entrance or ballot drop box, or near anyone standing in line.

You can safely campaign 100 feet away from this activity. 100 feet is about 40 big steps. If you’re not sure, step back farther.

If you are inside a voting zone:
  • Don’t ask anyone to vote for or against anything
  • Don’t hand out palm cards or show any campaign material
  • Don’t wear Yes on ES shirts, buttons, hats, or stickers
  • Don’t stand near or block drop boxes
If you’re voting yourself, take off your ES gear before you go in. Violations can bring fines or even jail time, so let’s keep it clean. Full rules are here: https://voterguide.sos.ca.gov/voter-info/electioneering.htm

DAY-OF QUESTIONS
Shoot an email my way all day through Tuesday, and you can also text Payal S. Maniar at 646-284-3869

We truly appreciate all of you sending this request to your networks, and pitching in if you are able.

ONLY THREE MORE DAYS LEFT! Thank you for your help in crossing the finish line, and for helping us get this far!
